Russell County Middle School saw some improvement in its state assessment results from last year.
Russell County Middle School remains in the yellow category, the third-highest color category behind blue and green. However, RCMS exceeded state average in the percentage of students scoring proficient or distinguished in reading by 1 percent, math by 6 percent, and science by 10 percent.
Russell County was 1 percent lower than state average in social studies and equal to state average in combined writing.
Russell County Middle School also showed improvement from last year by exiting the federal classification of targeted support and improvement for students with disabilities.
