Russell County’s Lou Ann Gore Flanagan was recently appointed to the State Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education.
Flanagan was appointed to the council by Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.
The council is made up of 19 voting members from across the state, representing teachers, parents, school administrators, postsecondary education institutions, and the private sector. Flanagan will represent high school teachers on the council.
The council is mandated by state law for the purpose of making recommendations for educational services for gifted and talented students in the commonwealth.
Flanagan’s term on the council will run through June 2027.
