Campaign signs continue to pop up around the county, and that means this year’s general election is just around the corner.
Election Day is now less than one month away, scheduled for Tuesday, November 5.
This year, voters in Russell County and across the commonwealth will once again have the option to vote early.
Russell County Clerk Patti Glover said no-excuse, in-person early voting will be available Thursday, October 31, Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2. Any registered voter in Russell County will be able to cast their ballot early in the courtroom at the old Russell County Courthouse.
Any voter who is eligible to vote absentee has until October 22 to request an absentee ballot either through the online portal or through the county clerk’s office.
The presidential race is one of the most well-known contests on the ballot this year, but this year’s ballot also includes a race for U.S. House of Representatives and constitutional amendments regarding school funding and voting laws. Voters in Russell Springs and Jamestown will also be able to cast their ballots for city council races.
