The Russell County 4-H Shooting Sports team competed in the Ralph Pettyjohn Memorial Shoot recently.
In the 12-14 year old division:
Alana McDonald – 1st place – recurve archery and target archery recurve
Andrea Russell – 1st place – black powder flintlock and 3rd place in black powder pistol.
Ryan Stanton – 2nd place – .22 pistol
Brayden Popplewell – 1st place – .22 target rifle and BB ; 2nd place in .22 sport rifle
Will Hatter – 2nd place – black powder flintlock and 3rd place in black powder rifle
Dalton Foley – 3rd place – black powder flintlock
In the 12-14 year old team awards:
Andrea Russell, Dalton Foley, and William Hatter – 1st place – black powder flintlock
Daniel Hernandez, Ryan Stanton, Will Hatter, and Christian Diaz – 2nd place – .22 pistol
In the 15-18 year old division:
Sarah Stephens – 1st place – black powder flintlock, black powder rifle, and black powder pistol
Abigail Emerson – 1st place – compound bare bow
Zach Walters – 1st place – bowhunter archery and target archery compound ; 2nd place in black powder rifle
Sarah Grider – 1st place – target archery recurve and 2nd place in recurve archery
Eli Foley – 2nd place – black powder flintlock, 3rd place in black powder rifle and black powder pistol
