Lakers fall in season opener to Adair County

The Russell County Laker Football team put forth a strong effort in their home opener at the new Finley Field Friday night, but fell short against the Adair County Indians by a score of 22-16.

Tanner Stringer and Owen Loy each had a rushing touchdown in the game for the Lakers.

The Lakers will look to get their first win of the season when they host the Somerset Briar Jumpers this Friday night. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 6:30 at Finley Field at the First National Bank Athletic Complex.
