Lady Laker Soccer continues hot start to season

The Russell County Lady Laker Soccer team continued its hot start to the season, picking up an 8-0 win over district foe Monroe County Saturday afternoon.

Addison Coffey scored 5 goals for the Lady Lakers, as Adriana Thomas added 2 goals and Madison Weisbrodt scored 1 goal and finished with 3 assists as well.

Liz Evans had a pair of saves as goalkeeper.

In the JV game, Russell County defeated Metcalfe County 3-0.

Jayde Lawless scored a pair of goals and Mercedes Sanchez added a goal, along with an assist.

Jasmine Rowe had 4 saves as goalkeeper.

The Lady Lakers are now 3-0 to start the season. They are off this week but return to action next Monday when they host Marion County.
