The Russell County Hospital Board of Directors voted to lower its tax rate at yesterday’s board meeting.
The board unanimously approved lowering the tax rate by one percentage point, a move that members of the board said they felt was the right thing to do for the community.
WJRS News spoke to Russell County Hospital CEO Scott Thompson following the meeting about the tax decrease.
The new tax rate will be presented to the fiscal court next month.
