Russell Springs, Jamestown fire departments battle barn fire Saturday afternoon

The Russell Springs and Jamestown Fire Departments battled a barn fire in the Bernard Ridge area Saturday afternoon.

The Russell Springs Fire Department was called out Saturday afternoon at around 4:15 to a barn on fire at 1926 East Highway 619.

Property records show the property belonging to David and Mary Holderfield.

Ten firefighters from the Russell Springs Fire Department responded to the call.

Once on scene, firefighters from the Jamestown Fire Department were called out to provide additional water support.

The two departments working together were able to extinguish the blaze in about 3.5 hours with no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Russell Springs Fire Department.
