No mention of Adair facility in Beshear’s budget proposal for juvenile detention facilities

Recently Gov. Andy Beshear released his budget proposal ahead of the upcoming legislative session in which the Kentucky General Assembly will craft the state’s budget for the next two years.

A portion of Beshear’s budget proposal addresses juvenile detention facilities in the state.

The budget proposal includes funding for two new female-only facilities in Fayette County and Western Kentucky, along with funds to renovate an existing facility in Jefferson County and funds to retrofit facilities in Breathitt, Fayette and McCracken counties as well as the Lyndon facility in Louisville.

There is no specific mention of the juvenile detention facility in Adair County.

This budget is only a proposal from the Governor’s office.
