State Sen. Rick Girdler has filed for re-election to the 15th District Senate seat.
The 15th Senate District includes Russell, Clinton, Cumberland, Pulaski and Wayne counties.
Girdler, a Republican, is from Somerset.
The election for the state senate seat will take place next year.
