Local gas prices have seen a notable decline over the last month.
In early September, gas prices in the area were hovering around $3.50/gallon.
According to AAA, the average price of gas in Russell County is at $3.33 but several stations are selling at $3.29/gallon.
AAA says Russell County gas prices are pretty much on par with other neighboring counties.
Adair County is slightly lower with an average price of $3.30, but Russell County is on par with Casey and Pulaski counties.
Counties to the south are seeing higher prices though.
Cumberland County has an average price of $3.36, according to AAA, while Wayne and Clinton counties are both selling at above $3.40.
