The National Weather Service is advising people to use extra caution this week with temperatures expected to be higher than normal.
The weather service issued a release over the weekend advising people that temperatures will likely be in the mid-to-high 90s this week with the afternoon heat index likely reaching higher than 100.
The NWS recommends monitoring vulnerable populations, such as the elderly, for symptoms of heat-related illness.
The weather service also advises people to wear light and loose clothing when outside, stay hydrated, and limit outdoor activity when possible
