Electricity went out for more than 3,400 South Kentucky RECC customers in Russell County last night.
The outages began at around 8:45 last night and according to local dispatch, the main power grid behind Salem Elementary along with multiple transformers went down, causing widespread outages from West 76 at the Adair County line all the way down into the Eli area.
Crews with South Kentucky RECC were able to restore power to most customers by 10 p.m.
