Data from the local mesonet site shows last month was one of the driest months in Russell County so far this year.
According to the mesonet, Russell County received just 2.3 inches of rain in July, the second-driest month of 2023.
The only month with less precipitation was May, in which the county received just 1.4 inches according to the data.
On average, Russell County is receiving about 3.7 inches of precipitation per month in 2023.
