Investigation reportedly underway following infant death

An investigation is apparently underway following the death of an infant on Saturday.

WJRS News has learned that Russell County EMS responded to the Jamestown Manor on Saturday regarding a small child, approximately four months old.

The child was reportedly transported by EMS to the Russell County Hospital emergency room and later pronounced dead.

WJRS News contacted Kentucky State Police yesterday to get more details, but a spokesperson for the state police did not respond.

Local officials told WJRS News on Sunday evening they could not release any information on the incident.

The child was reportedly taken for an autopsy on Sunday to determine the cause of death.

WJRS News will continue to follow the story and will provide more details if, and when, they become available.
