Holmes Bend Beach in neighboring Adair County is closed this week due to unsafe E. coli levels.
Beach samples are taken weekly, and once the levels drop to a safe level, the beach will re-open.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District made the decision to close the beach, and said the cause of the high levels could be anything from animals to high rain events that cause run-off.
