The Lady Laker Softball team dropped a game at home to Taylor County on Friday and went on the road to defeat Southwestern on Saturday.
On Friday, the Lady Lakers were held scoreless for 6 innings, but Russell County’s 7th inning rally fell short, falling by a score of 7-3.
Camdin Cooper and Jaylee Roy each finished with a pair of hits and an RBI, with Roy hitting a home run, her third of the season.
Addison Hart got the start pitching, going 5 1/3 innings and giving up 7 runs (6 earned) on 9 hits, striking out 2.
On Saturday, the Lakers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, picking up a 14-6 victory.
Rylen McGowan, Camdin Cooper, Avery Hart, and Mallie McQueary each finished with 3 hits. Cooper and Addy Abrell each drove in 3 runs, and McGowan led the team with 4 runs scored.
Hart picked up the win pitching, going 7 innings and giving up 6 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits and striking out 3.
The Lady Lakers go on the road to Pulaski County for a matchup with the Lady Maroons this evening beginning at 5 p.m.
