Connecticut man arrested locally on multiple charges

A Connecticut man was arrested by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office on multiple charges over the weekend.

According to jail records, 33-year-old Thomas Torres was arrested Friday night and charged with assault third degree on a peace officer, no registration plates, speeding 10 mph or more over the limit, obstructing governmental operations, operating on a suspended or revoked license, disorderly conduct second degree, resisting arrest, and other charges.

Torres was arrested by Deputy Phipps with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center at around 7:30 p.m.
