A one-vehicle wreck near the Lake Cumberland State Park entrance Wednesday morning claimed the life of a Russell County woman.
According to Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston, the accident occurred just before 9 a.m. when 50-year-old Holly Elli, operating a 2002 Honda Accord, left the roadway and hit an embankment, causing the car to flip and Elli to be ejected from the vehicle.
Polston and Deputy Gwinn Wooldridge investigated the accident. They were assisted on scene by the South Russell Fire Department and Russell County EMS.
