State’s unemployment rate sits at 3.8%

Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary May unemployment rate was 3.8 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics.

The May jobless rate was up 0.1 percentage points from April and was unchanged from one year ago.

The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for May was 3.7 percent, which was up 0.3 percentage points from April, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

New updated county unemployment figures are scheduled to be released later this week
