Russell, neighboring counties considered “abnormally dry”

Russell County and several neighboring counties are considered abnormally dry by the U.S. Drought Monitor.

Only Clinton and Cumberland counties fall outside the abnormally dry range.

Much of the central Kentucky area as well as northern and western Kentucky remain abnormally dry, which is the lowest level of drought categorized by the monitor.
