One person was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 127 yesterday afternoon.

According to Jamestown Police, the accident occurred just before 3 p.m. near Welfare Baptist Church on Highway 127 when a 2007 Toyota operated by 43-year-old David Piotrowski of Jamestown traveling south crashed into the back of a 2006 GMC box truck operated by 50-year-old Tony Withers of Russell Springs.

Withers reportedly hit his brakes trying to avoid a collision with the car in front of him when Piotrowski’s car crashed into the back of the truck.

A passenger in the Toyota, Ernestine Ramsey, was transported by EMS to Russell County Hospital for treatment of injuries.
