Missing Wayne County man located over the weekend

A man reported missing to the sheriff’s office in neighboring Wayne County on Friday afternoon but was missing days earlier was found alive in a creek bed Saturday morning, according to reports.

The man’s car was found parked near Chriswell Cemetery Road off Kentucky Highway 167 south.

Officials and first responders searched into the night Friday and resumed the search Saturday morning, when he was discovered just before 10 a.m.

Wayne County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and the man, whose name has yet to be released, was flown via emergency helicopter to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Officials say he is expected to recover.

Authorities say the man was walking his timber boundary lines last Tuesday afternoon when he tripped and fell down an embankment and landed in the creek bed. The man remained there until crews found him Saturday.
