4 neighboring, nearby counties eligible for water infrastructure after flooding issues

The Lake Cumberland District counties of Casey, Cumberland, Taylor, and Green are among the more than 20 counties that received a major disaster declaration last year and are now eligible to apply for grants to help their communities repair water infrastructure.

Gov. Andy Beshear was joined last week by U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development’s state director for Kentucky, Thomas Carew, to announce the funding availability to help a number of Kentucky communities repair water infrastructure damaged by last year’s floods.

The funds can be used to repair damaged water infrastructure as well as to reduce long-term risks from future weather events. Applications opened last Thursday and will remain open for 60 days.
