Two rising RCHS seniors selected for annual Governor’s Scholar Program

Russell County High School has announced seniors-to-be Lincoln Helm and Chance Betts-Jimenez as Kentucky Governor’s Scholar Program recipients for 2023.

Both Helm and Betts-Jimenez will participate in the summer residential program for outstanding Kentucky high school students who are rising seniors. More than 2,000 applications are received at the state level each year, with approximately 1,000 students selected to attend.

This year’s Governor Scholars will meet at one of three Kentucky universities this summer for the five-week program at one of the following sites: Centre College, Morehead State University, and Murray State University.

Established in 1983, the program provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience. Those selected attend the program free of charge.
