Russell Springs City Hall will close at noon today for the funeral services of Valerie Baker, an E-911 dispatcher who passed away last weekend.
During this closure, residents can still reach the City of Russell Springs through the city’s website or by leaving a voicemail message. City Hall will resume normal business hours on Friday.
Below is a letter from Russell Springs Mayor Eddie Thomas.
The City of Russell Springs would like to inform the public that City Hall will be closed tomorrow, April 20th, at noon. This closure is to allow our employees the opportunity to pay their final respects to Valerie Baker, a former colleague, and dear friend.
Valerie Baker was a dedicated and hardworking member of the Russell County Emergency Services, and her sudden passing has left a deep void in our organization. We want to ensure that our employees have the chance to say their goodbyes and honor her memory.
During this closure, residents can still reach the City of Russell Springs through our website or by leaving a voicemail message. We will resume normal business hours on the following business day.
We appreciate the understanding and support of the community during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Valerie’s family and loved ones.
Sincerely,
Mayor Eddie Thomas
