Online portal now open to request absentee ballot; no excuse absentee voting again an option

The online portal to request an absentee ballot for the upcoming May primary election is now open.

The online portal went live over the weekend and will remain open for 45 days until the primary election on Tuesday, May 16. You can also request an absentee ballot in person at the county clerk’s office in Jamestown.

There are several situations that can qualify a registered voter for an absentee ballot, such as being a student who temporarily resides outside the county or someone who is not able to make it to a polling place due to age, disability, illness, etc.

In Russell County, excused in-person absentee voting will take place from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Russell County Clerk’s Office on May 3, 4, and 5 and again on May 8, 9, and 10.

In-person no excuse absentee voting will again be an option on May 11, 12, and 13 at the South Kentucky RECC Community Room from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
