Kentucky sees drop in overdose deaths for first time since 2018

The state of Kentucky saw a drop in overdose deaths for the first time since 2018 last year, according to a new report.

After a record number of deaths in 2021, fatal overdoses dropped 5% in 2022.

According to the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center, more than 2,100 Kentuckians died from overdose deaths last year.

The full 2022 Drug Overdose Mortality Report is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
