
The Russell County Lady Laker Softball team picked up a big district win at home last night, defeating the Metcalfe County Lady Hornets 11-0 in five innings.
Kiara Kemp had a big night in the pitcher’s circle, striking out seven as she threw a no-hitter. Russell County only allowed three base runners the whole night via a walk, an error, and a dropped third strike.
At the plate, Mallie McQueary had a big night finishing with a single, double, and a triple, driving in 4 runs in the process.
Addie Davis added a pair of hits and 3 RBI.
The Lady Lakers go on the road for another district matchup Thursday against Cumberland County.
