Camper Appreciation Weekend coming to state parks, including Lake Cumberland

All Kentucky State Park campgrounds, including Lake Cumberland State Resort Park, will be offering two nights of camping for the price of one during their annual Camper Appreciation Weekend, April 28-30, 2023.

The 2023 camping season officially opened on March 13 at all 30 Kentucky State Parks campgrounds, which feature about 2,300 campsites across the state.

The weekend of April 28-30 is the annual Camper Appreciation Weekend, when campers get two nights for the price of one. State park campgrounds offer a variety of activities during Camper Appreciation Weekend, including entertainment, arts and crafts, miniature golf, guided nature hikes, bonfires, tours, cookouts and much more.

All state park campgrounds have water and electric services with dump stations or sewer hookups, along with picnic tables and fire rings at each improved site and bathhouses. Primitive sites are also available.

Sites will remain open through mid-November, and a few will remain open during the winter months.
