A Russell County man was among those indicted by an Adair County grand jury this week, along with an Alabama man accused of stealing a new Dodge Hellcat from a Somerset car dealership.
Cody Allen Johnson of Russell Springs was indicted by the grand jury on a charge of flagrant non-support and being a persistent felony offender.
Also indicted was Caveze Jones of Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
Jones was indicted on charges of receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, wanton endangerment of a police officer, fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, and other charges.
The charges stem from a case last month in which Jones was allegedly involved in the theft of six new Dodge Hellcats from a car dealership in Somerset.
According to Kentucky State Police, an officer spotted four of the vehicles traveling west on the Cumberland Parkway after the thefts at speeds of around 180 miles per hour following the theft and officers were able to use spike strips to disable the vehicle Jones was operating.
WJRS News would like to remind our readers an indictment is a legal accusation. It does not imply guilt orĀ innocence.
