After being postponed, Maynard preliminary hearing to happen today

A preliminary hearing in the case of a Jamestown man accused of murdering his half-brother finally happens today after being pushed back earlier this week to due an illness by one the attorneys.

Lee Maynard is scheduled to appear in Russell District Court this morning at 11 a.m.

Maynard, who is being represented by the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, was scheduled to appear Monday, but the hearing was postponed until today due to Maynard’s attorney being ill.

Maynard is charged with murder in the shooting death of his half-brother, 22-year-old Charles Maynard, at a residence on Fox Lane in Jamestown earlier this month.

At his last court appearance, Maynard pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
