Adair woman charged with harboring vicious animals

An Adair County woman has been arrested and charged with harboring vicious animals.

According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old Christie Ferguson was charged with harboring vicious animals and wanton endangerment.

The investigation stemmed from multiple complaints from residents in the area of multiple pit bull dogs running loose.

Reports included attacks on neighbors pets and an attempted attack on a female who was walking. The Sheriffs Office reportedly tried numerous times to get Ferguson to safely maintain the animals but was unsuccessful and was told to leave the property.

Three pit bulls were seized by the Sheriff’s Office and captured by the Adair County Dog Warden.

The dogs were taken to the Adair County Animal Shelter where they will be held until a determination by the court is made.
