Several Russell County Middle School athletics teams were in action yesterday.
The middle school Laker Baseball team went on the road to Adair County and picked up two big wins.
The Lakers picked up a 15-5 win in four innings over the Indians, with Jay Helm picking up the win on the mound and Tyson Stille earning the save.
Jace Skaggs had a big day at the plate with 3 hits, driving in 4 runs.
The middle school B team also picked up a 6-4 win. Luke Walters drove in three runs in the win.
Middle school boys soccer was also in action.
In the A game, the Lakers finished with a 1-1 tie against the Taylor County Cardinals.
Luis Lopez scored the lone goal for the Lakers.
In the B game, the Lakers came out on top by a score of 3-0.
Ulysses Gomez, Landon Saavedra, and Luis Lopez scored for the Lakers.
The Russell County Lady Laker Volleyball team was also in action yesterday, going on the road to Monroe County.
The 6th grade team came away with a 2-0 victory, but the 7th and 8th grade teams each came up short against the Lady Falcons.
