The Russell County Middle School Laker Baseball teams defeated Metcalfe County last night.
In the A game, the Lakers came out on top 7-1.
Nathan Neeley drove in a pair of runs for the Lakers,
Riley Taylor got the start pitching, allowing just one hit and one run in 2 2/3 innings of work. Evan Hutchison entered in relief, pitching 3 1/3 innings and giving up just one hit while striking out 5.
In the B game, the Lakers picked up a 6-2 win.
Holden Hadley drove in a pair of runs and Jonathon McBeath got the win on the mound, pitching three shutout innings while striking out six.
