Lake Cumberland district remains ‘low’ with COVID

The entire 10-county Lake Cumberland District remains in the “green,” or low level of COVID-19 spread this week with only five counties in the state considered “yellow”, according to new data released this week by the Kentucky Department of Public Health.

Those “yellow,” or medium level counties include the eastern Kentucky counties of Pike, Morgan, Elliot, Menifee, and Rowan. There are currently no counties in the state labeled “red”, which would indicate a high level of community spread of the COVID-19 virus.

According to the department of public health, Russell County’s current case rate, per 100,000 population, is 72.53.
