Sheriff’s Office releases January report

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office released its monthly activity report for January.

The sheriff’s office received 296 calls for service, not including office calls or walk-ins.

The sheriff’s office reported 21 arrests, 14 domestic calls, 18 traffic collisions, 61 officer requests and 6 EMS assist requests.

The sheriff’s office also performed 14 mental health transports, had 120 court papers received, and drove more than 4,600 court security transport miles.

The sheriff’s office also performed 44 vehicle inspections and issued 14 concealed carry permits.

In January, the sheriff’s office collected more than $947,000 in property taxes.
