Russell Springs man charged with murder in fatal January collision

A Russell Springs man is facing murder and other charges stemming from a January auto collision in which a Russell Springs woman passed away.

According to jail records, 23-year-old Alex Entzin was arrested Monday afternoon and faces charges of murder, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, no operators license, failure to give an oncoming vehicle half of the highway, and speeding 14 mph over the limit.

Entzin was arrested by Fish and Wildlife Resources and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center at 4:17 p.m., according to jail records.

The charges stem from a collision on Jan. 2 in which Kentucky State Police said Entzin was traveling south on Highway 127 when he collided head-on with a vehicle operated by 75-year-old Wanda Wethington.

Wethington was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Russell County Coroner’s Office.
