Russell reports 14 new COVID cases this week, Clinton sees 18 case increase

The Kentucky Department for Public Health reported 14 new COVID cases in Russell County this week, a decrease from last week’s total of 22.

Looking at other counties in the Lake Cumberland District, Taylor County and Pulaski County each tied for the most with 35 cases, Clinton County had 26, Adair County had 19 cases, Wayne County reported 15 cases, Casey County and Green County each had six cases, McCreary County had five cases, and Cumberland County had one case.

The state also reported 12 individuals hospitalized in the Lake Cumberland area with COVID-19 with two being treated in intensive care units. One of those was reported as being on a ventilator.

The statewide positivity rate has now increased to 10.14 percent.
