NWS concludes 80-90 mph straight line winds caused last week’s storm damage

Lead Forecaster Brian Schoettmer with the National Weather Service in Louisville led a storm damage survey Friday in several areas of the county following last Thursday’s severe thunderstorm. The National Weather Service said 80-90 mph straight-line winds were responsible for the damage in the hardest hit areas but no tornadoes touched down.
