
The Russell County Lakers and Lady Lakers split a doubleheader at Adair County Friday night.
The Lady Lakers picked up a big win over the Lady Indians, winning 44-31.
Addy Abrell led Russell County’s scoring with 14 points, followed by Jaterria Coffey with 9, and Aniyah Coffey with 6.
Aniyah Coffey and Hannah Yates each finished with 9 rebounds in the win.
The Lakers struggled against the Indians, falling 75-54.
Braydon Cerrato led the Lakers with 13 points, followed by Mayes Gosser with 10 and Maddox Shearer with 8.
Gosser finished with a team-high 8 rebounds.
On Saturday, the Lady Lakers traveled to Edmonson County, where they fell 50-28.
Aniyah Coffey led the team with 10 points and a team-high 7 rebounds, followed by Addison Hart with 5 points.
The Lakers were on the road on Saturday as well, falling 86-77 at Whitley County.
Braydon Cerrato again led the Lakers in scoring, finishing with a season-high 28 points on 12 of 15 shooting along with a team-high 11 rebounds.
Trace Stringer added 17 and Owen Loy added 14.
The Lakers are now 9-19 on the season. The Lady Lakers are 6-21.
The Lakers will be at home tomorrow hosting the Danville Admirals. The Lady Lakers are on the road at Whitley County tomorrow.
