Adair Judge Executive asks for resignation of utility board members

In neighboring Adair County, new County Judge Executive Larry Russell Bryant is seeking resignations from three board members and the manager of the Columbia-Adair Utilities District.

According to the Adair County Community Voice in Columbia, Bryant walked into the last meeting of the board prior to starting and tossed sealed envelopes to each of the board members and the manager.

The envelopes contained a letter from Bryant in which he said he knew of past practices of the board and due to a current audit, it was the correct time to respectfully ask for the resignation of the board members and manager.

Each of the board members, which includes David Jones, Terry Partin and Junior Brown, along with manager Lenny Stone, said they do not intend to resign.
