An undercover investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics in neighboring Wayne County has resulted in a federal indictment of a Wayne County man, according to Z93 Radio in Monticello.
The investigation was conducted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI where methamphetamine was being purchased from the Wayne County man by both involved agencies.
On December 3rd, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested MacArthur Young A.K.A. John Young on a Federal Parole Warrant of Arrest for a violation of his federal parole requirements which was not related to illegal narcotic sales. Young was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center at that time. After a local court appearance, he was transferred to the Laurel County Detention Center in London, which is a Federal Holding Facility for the parole violation.
Last Friday evidence was presented to the United States District Court Eastern District of Kentucky Southern Division London Federal Grand Jury by Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigations on the illegal narcotic sales in Wayne County. The Federal Grand Jury returned a True Bill Indictment on Young for knowingly and intentionally distributing 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine and other charges.
Young remains in jail awaiting future court appearances.
The investigation is continuing with more indictments and arrests forthcoming.
