Details released about arrest of missing Russell County persons

According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest of two people who went missing from Russell County came as a result of shots being fired into a home off Highway 80.

In a report from the sheriff’s office, Matthew Boutwell and Sabena Ramirez were arrested Tuesday evening after a man in the 5000 block of East Highway 80 called 911 and said a man was shooting at his house and had broken into a camper in his driveway.

Upon arrival, law enforcement found Boutwell and Ramirez inside the camper. Officers tried to talk the pair into exiting the camper, but were unsuccessful.

Columbia Police and Kentucky State Police troopers arrived on scene and law enforcement officers were able to enter the camper and located the pair hiding in a bedroom. They were arrested without incident.

A 22 revolver was located during the investigation, as well as four shell casings, according to the sheriff’s office.

Boutwell faces charges of wanton endangerment first degree, burglary first degree, and theft of a firearm.

Ramirez is charged with burglary second degree.

Both remain lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.

The investigation is ongoing by the Adair County Sheriff’s Office.
