Russell County Schools will be collecting gift card donations and cash during each school’s open house this week.
Businesses, community members, staff, students, organizations and individuals can bring donated gift cards to one of the school open houses this week, according to Superintendent Michael Ford.
Russell County Schools Family Resource and Youth Service Center directors will collaborate with the Family Resource Youth Service Center directors in areas that were ravaged by late-July flooding to get gift cards where they are needed most.
Suggested gift cards are Visa, Mastercard, Dollar General, Lowe’s and Amazon in any amount and cash donations will be utilized to purchase additional gift cards or specifically requested items.
Donations of dehumidifiers, box fans and mold killing chemicals have also been requested and if you’re interested in donating one of these items call the Russell County Board of Education at 270-343-3191 to make arrangements.
