Monticello man arrested on federal indictment

Over the weekend, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Monticello man on a federal indictment arrest warrant, according to Z93 in neighboring Wayne County.

Jimmy D. Lowe’s federal indictment warrant was related to an undercover narcotics investigation where methamphetamine was purchased from Lowe by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. The federal warrant was also related to an arrest of Lowe by the sheriff’s office where methamphetamine and a firearm were seized from him.

The United States Federal Indictment Warrant of Arrest listed Lowe’s charges as distribution of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Lowe was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center to be transported to a federal holding facility in London where he will be arraigned in front of a United States Federal Court Magistrate.

Lowes’s arrest was a joint investigation by the United States Department of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
