Cumberland, Taylor counties receive $ to upgrade voting machines

The State Board of Elections this week allocated funding to neighboring Cumberland County and nearby Taylor County to upgrade their voting equipment to paper-ballot-based, auditable machines.

Taylor was allocated $50,000 while Cumberland will receive $25,000 for the upgrades.

Those two counties were among 11 counties to receive a total of $630,000

Since 2020, following procurement of a federal grant by Secretary of State Michael Adams, the State Board of Elections has allocated nearly $3.5 million in federal funds to Kentucky counties for upgrading their voting machines.
