A well-known area artist has passed away.
Fred Thrasher, a Clinton County native, passed away Tuesday according to members of the Thrasher family.
Fred was known around the Lake Cumberland area for his paintings, many of which depicted nature scenes and historical landmarks.
In Russell County, Thrasher painted many notable landmarks and sights, and his artwork achieved great success with a career spanning 35 years and his paintings being sold across the United States and the world.
