South Kentucky RECC is notifying customers of a scam in their service area, which includes portions of Russell County, where scammers are going door to door and telling customers that if they will pay half of their utility bill in cash then the rest of their bill will be taken care of via payment through an app.
These are scammers, according to RECC, and they advise folks to never give out any personal or financial information.
