COVID: Russell back in the green, 4 neighboring counties in red

After a week in yellow, Russell County has moved back to green, or low, on the new COVID map, which was released by the Kentucky Department for Public Health over the weekend.

The updated map shows Russell County’s neighboring counties in the Lake Cumberland District in the green, yellow, or medium, and red, or high, levels of community spread.

Neighboring Cumberland, Clinton, Wayne and Pulaski counties are in the red, while Casey County is in the yellow. Neighboring Adair County joins Russell County in the green, or low, category.

This model calculates the level of Covid-19 infection in the community based on hospital capacity and the number of new COVID admitted patients to the hospital for the last week.
